I'm the designer you call when a product is complex, stakeholders disagree, and UX doesn't exist yet — and the kind of teammate you'll want for an after-work Spritz.
My Journey
I'm Miriam, a Senior Product Designer originally from Sicily, Italy 🇮🇹, raised between mountains ⛰️ and sea 🌊. I studied Communication Design at Politecnico di Milano, drawn in by the persuasive power of advertising.
A semester abroad in Vienna 🇦🇹 shifted my perspective. I saw how much persuasion depends on cultural and linguistic context, and I wanted to design something more universal 🌎.
Since 2019, I've worked in UX across automotive, insurance, fintech, and engineering software. I spent six years in Frankfurt am Main 🇩🇪, specializing in simplifying complex systems, designing end-to-end applications, and working in organizations where UX was still finding its footing.
I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all process. Every project brings different constraints, timelines, and teams, and the best decisions come from knowing when to apply structure 📄, when to lead with empathy ❤️, and when to let go of both.
I've recently moved to New York 🗽, bringing a European design sensibility, a hands-on approach, and a habit of making things with my hands when I'm away from a screen… usually within reach of at least one plant 🪴.
Outside the brief: Community & Mentoring
I believe design grows stronger 🌱 when it's shared. For me, mentorship and community are extensions of the same principle that guides my product work: bringing clarity to complexity, and helping others do the same.
